I almost had to pinch myself when we were in London!! The feel of the city was electrifying. We got absolutely no sleep on our 8 hour flight, we were running on nothing. We dropped our luggage off and hopped on a double decker immediately. We hopped on and off all day. I felt so comfortable in England. It was so beautiful and clean and rich with history--and the museums are all free! I want to live there, it is a place I know I could never get bored in. One thing that stood out to me most about London was its intense diversity, especially with the Middle Eastern community, so much Arabic, it was fun to try to decipher, a part from NYC and Washington DC, and I have been to some huge cities, London had the most diversity with its Middle Eastern population. Everyone was so nice! The first day we went all over London seeing sights and getting lost, my feet were so sore because we walked so much, but every sight was brand new and I loved our constant adventures. The next day we did a back to back tour from Winsor Castle to Bath and to the grand finale of Stonehenge, it was such a richly filled two day adventure, and we were so lucky to have a wonder Scottish tour guide, she was fantastic and was a little encyclopedia :) . And the next day we were off to the port city of Harwich (a beautiful two hour ride, and for what I was awake for, we both fell in love with the gorgeous seemingly endless English countryside) for our Baltic cruise.

This pigeon was the chunkiest pigeon I have ever seen. ever. I don't know if it could even fly. It was hanging around outside Old London waiting for the opportune moment to eat some more.
Old London was highly fortified.
Me sleep deprives, sans makeup but so thrilled to be in Old London. I have always loved history from the time of Henry the VIII and when I was younger read different fictional books about the time period. Couldn't believe we were really there.

The thin opening was for bows and arrows. Winsor Castle was a fortress and commissioned under William the Conqueror in the 11th century! Winsor Castle is one of the only still standing of those castles of the nine dispersed around London.

These ancient stones were incredible to see. I always thought Stonehenge was in the middle of an open field but it is actually situated right off the highway. In its origins however it was in the middle of no where and the stones used for the creation were 1000s of miles away. These ancient people somehow knew where the stones were and traveled thousands of miles to transport the incredibly heavy stones (26 tons!) to this specific location. It was split up into 3 phases and the process took 3000 arduous years to complete (in stop and go phases, not continuously), why? I really want to know they say for equinoxes or their religion and other theories...extremely curious.
My good friend is an anglophile to the truest degree, so I had to get him this royal postcard. He loved it!
